About Sun Peaks
Even though Sun Peaks is the second largest ski resort in Canada with 3 mountains and 4,270 acres of skiable terrain, the line ups at the lifts are usually very short and it’s often easy to get a seat at the local restaurants. Only Whistler Blackcomb is larger than Sun Peaks, but is also the busiest in North America. There are 13 ski lifts and 137 trails with 17 gladed areas. All 3 mountains are easily accessible from the village. Similar to other ski resorts in BC’s interior, the resort receives about 6 meters of light, dry powdery snow annually. About Big White
Big White is Canada’s largest ski-in-ski-out resort village. You can ski right from the door of your cabin to a chairlift. Unlike many other mountain resorts that alternate between winter sports in the cooler months and downill mountain biking in the warmer months, Big White has always been built just as a ski resort. It is only open in the Winter and closed in the Summer. It is open in December all the way until mid April. At the altitude that Big White is at, it only snows and never rains there, providing over 2500 vertical feet of perfect powder snow. People love that there are little to no line-ups at the lifts. For more information, visit the official Big White website.
