The Mile 0 marker is the start of the over 8,000 km Trans-Canada Highway that spans the entire length of Canada. The monument is located on a large grassy field adjacent to the beautiful Beacon Hill Park. Mile 0 is also home to a statue of Terry Fox, who started his cross country journey across Canada at Mile 0.
We'll take the beautifully scenic ferry ride on BC Ferries from Tsawwassen's Ferry Terminal to Victoria's Swartz Bay Terminal. The ferry ride takes approximately 1.5 hours as it navigates a passage through the majestic Gulf Islands. With its beginnings in the mid-nineteenth century, Victoria's Chinatown is the oldest Canada and second oldest in North America, after San Francisco. Fan Tan Alley holds another Canadian record as the narrowest street in Canada at just 0.9m wide at its narrowest point.
