We'll take the beautifully scenic ferry ride on BC Ferries from Tsawwassen's Ferry Terminal to Victoria's Swartz Bay Terminal. The ferry ride takes approximately 1.5 hours as it navigates a passage through the majestic Gulf Islands. Aboard the ferry, enjoy some food and drink at the cafes, restaurants and coffee bars that are available. Do a little shopping at the various stores on board or take in the beautiful sights outside any of the large panoramic windows around the ferry.
With its beginnings in the mid-nineteenth century, Victoria's Chinatown is the oldest Canada and second oldest in North America, after San Francisco. Victoria's Chinatown was designated a National Historic Site in 1995, and is currently home to a vibrant mix of businesses, restaurants, cafes and shops. Fan Tan Alley holds another Canadian record as the narrowest street in Canada at just 0.9m wide at its narrowest point. Fan Tan Alley is filled with boutiqe shops selling jewelry, music, close, shoes and souvenirs.
Mile 0 of the Trans Canada Highway is located on Douglas Street at the intersection of Dallas Road, near the beautiful Victoria waterfront. The Mile 0 marker is the start of the over 8,000 km Trans-Canada Highway that spans the entire length of Canada. The monument is located on a large grassy field adjacent to the beautiful Beacon Hill Park. Mile 0 is also home to a statue of Terry Fox, who started his cross country journey across Canada at Mile 0.
